Gabon enters into a strategic partnership agreement with the Commonwealth Business Investment Council

President Ali Bongo Ondimba received on Thursday 13 October the Chairman of the Commonwealth Business and Investment Council, Jonathan Peter Marland.

«This meeting, which takes place a few days before the raising of the Gabonese flag in London on 17 October 2022, is part of regular exchanges between member states of Commonwealth institutions,» said a statement from the Renovation Palace.

«On this occasion, a strategic partnership agreement was concluded between Gabon and the Commonwealth Investment Business Council with the aim of supporting the increase of investments of Commonwealth actors in various national sectors of activity, notably that of the timber industry,» the same communiqué continues.

He concluded that «while congratulating the President of the Republic on Gabon’s membership of the Commonwealth family, Jonathan Peter Marland expressed his satisfaction at being able to cooperate with Gabon and the Congo in areas of interest to its people and to the Commonwealth in general».
