Launched as a national photography competition to highlight the country’s environmental wealth and biodiversity, Amazing Gabon is now being exported internationally.
This event is organised on the occasion of Gabon’s presidency of the UN Security Council during the month of October.
Numerous photos have been selected to be shown during 4 days, from 17 to 21 October, at the UN headquarters.
Organised for the first time on 25 October 2021 in Libreville jointly by Amazing Gabon and the Gabonese Agency for the Development and Promotion of Tourism and Hospitality (Agatour), this photo competition aims to highlight the view of the Gabonese people on the richness of their country’s biodiversity.
« We are going to celebrate our country by highlighting all that is most beautiful about it, thanks to the photos that will be selected through the eyes of the Gabonese. For Amazing Gabon, it is also a way to promote national photographers and their work, » said its director, Steed Rey, at the time.
