
The meeting took place on Monday 17 October at Buckingham Palace following the flag raising ceremony that marked Gabon’s membership of the Commonwealth family.
The Gabonese president himself gave the information on his social networks.
«Extremely honoured and delighted to have met with His Highness King Charles III this Monday in London,» he said on his Facebook page.
«In the run-up to COP 27, our discussions focused on the environment, climate and biodiversity,» he added.
«On these subjects, as on others, we share the same vision and converge on the solutions to be implemented», he concluded.
President Ali Bongo Ondimba and King Charles III have known each other for a long time and share many common interests.
«Their relationship goes beyond the professional sphere. They are truly friendly,» explains a relationship common to both leaders.
According to several sources, the meeting between King Charles III and President Ali Bongo Ondimba was extremely warm and punctuated on several occasions by bursts of laughter.
